Annemeike Doane, AEMP, L.Ac.
Annemeike Doane is the co-founder and president of the Acupuncture & Wellness Center, P.S., and has been dedicated to serving patients in the Pacific Northwest for more than three decades. She holds a Master of Oriental Medicine degree in Chinese Medicine, is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Washington, and treats patients using Distal Needling Acupuncture® exclusively, the advanced needling method developed by her husband and teaching partner, Robert Doane.
Annemeike is passionate about helping patients through holistic medicine and is highly skilled in pain management, including neuropathy, migraines, back pain, and joint and muscular pains. She also offers cosmetic acupuncture and integrates nutrition and lifestyle guidance to support long-term wellness.
Originally from Northern Germany, Annemeike earned her Master of Education from Hannover University before moving to the United States. She and Bob attended the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine together, before opening the Acupuncture & Wellness Center in 1998.
Annemeike finds deep meaning in helping patients improve their physical and emotional well-being and considers it a privilege to support each person on their healing journey. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, Pilates, reading, going on long walks, and spending time with her two children, Max and Sophie.
Robert Doane, AEMP, L.Ac.
Robert Doane, AEMP, L.Ac. is the co-founder of the Acupuncture & Wellness Center, P.S., and the creator of Medical Pulse Diagnosis® (MPD®) and Distal Needling Acupuncture® (DNA®), two systems that have reshaped how practitioners around the world diagnose and treat patient conditions. With more than 500,000 patient visits and over two decades of high-volume clinical experience, Robert is widely regarded as one of the leading innovators in Traditional Chinese Medicine today.
Under Robert’s leadership and clinical vision, the Acupuncture & Wellness Center soon became one of the largest and most respected Traditional Chinese Medicine clinics in the United States. At its peak, the clinic routinely treated between 80–100 patient visits per day, offering acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, herbal prescriptions, and nutritional therapy. For 15 years, the clinic has been voted “Best Acupuncturist in Kitsap County,” a reflection of its commitment to exceptional patient care.
In addition to his clinical work, Robert is the creator of Medical Pulse Diagnosis® (MPD®) and Distal Needling Acupuncture® (DNA®). MPD® is a highly detailed, tactile method of pulse analysis that enhances diagnostic accuracy, while DNA® uses distal needle locations to create lasting pain relief. Robert teaches these systems to practitioners worldwide through seminars, online courses, and his published textbooks, helping to elevate the standard of diagnosis and treatment across the field of Chinese medicine.
Whether he is working hands-on with patients in Poulsbo or teaching clinicians across the globe, Robert remains committed to the same mission: to improve human health, to advance the practice of Chinese medicine, and to empower practitioners with the skills they need to change lives.
