Meet Jeannette Schreiber, EAMP, L.Ac.

Jeannette Schreiber graduated from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California with a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. Her studies included clinical rounds at the ZheJiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China. She is certified in both Acupuncture and herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is a licensed practitioner in both California and Washington. She joined the Acupuncture & Wellness Center, P.S., in 2010.

Since my teens I have been questioning: how can we best be healthy? I delved into nutrition, but still needed to go to the doctor on occasion. When the pharmaceutical medicines didn’t work or caused side effects I knew those remedies weren’t the answer. Surely there must be something that could do more than just get us through our day, something that could help us both feel and be healthier.

When a friend told me she was receiving Acupuncture, I was dubious. I had heard about it and it sounded good, but would Oriental medicine really work? Soon enough, however, I found myself getting up from a treatment table feeling profoundly better. Drinking bitter herbal brews quickly became a highlight of my day. A couple books later I discovered work was interfering with my hobby. I wanted to be on the other side of the needles, and I wanted to be skillful with the herbs. Within one year of my first treatment I decided to follow my passion and pursue formal studies.

Twelve years later my pursuit of health still doesn’t end at work. Delicious food is one of my prime occupations, and I am often happily planning, preparing, or enjoying my nourishment. Movement is vital for me as well; I do as many Feldenkrais and West African dance classes as I can. I also enjoy the outdoors and am looking forward to resuming knitting. Though I enjoy visiting home in California, I have very quickly come to call the beautiful Puget Sound region a second home.

I am delighted to be at the Acupuncture & Wellness Center, P.S. providing the very services that made such a difference in my life. It is rewarding to work with similarly passionate practitioners and staff committed to providing the best patient care.
